If a product is out-of-stock at the time of shipment, Heartstone Farm will make an effort to contact you to discuss your options, but in the event we are unable to reach you, Heartstone Farm reserves the right to make appropriate product substitutions and/or cancel the out-of-stock item from the order and issue the appropriate refund for the cancelled product.
TERMS AND POLICIES
Out of stock items
You are responsible for inspecting all Products you receive from us for any damage or other issues upon delivery. In addition, you are solely responsible for determining the freshness of the Products you receive. You should always inspect your delivery to confirm that the meats arrive in a cool, refrigerated condition. We recommend that you use a thermometer to ensure that the temperature zone within the container in which any meat is located is 40° F or below. In the unlikely event that such temperature zone is above 40° F, or you have any other reason to believe that any other Product in your delivery is not suitable for consumption, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and discard the item. To maintain the quality and integrity of the Products, we recommend that you immediately freeze or refrigerate all perishable Products upon delivery and follow the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s ("USDA") instructions on refrigeration and food safety, which can be found here. From the time of delivery, the condition and consumption of the Products are solely at your risk, and you are solely responsible for the proper and safe washing, handling, preparation, storage, cooking, use and consumption of the Products following delivery. We recommend that you follow the USDA’s instructions on safe food handling, which can be found here. We also recommend that all cooking instructions be followed and that you use a food thermometer to ensure that all meat, poultry, seafood and other applicable items are cooked to the USDA’s recommended internal temperatures, which can be found here.
If you are not at home when your delivery arrives, the courier will generally leave the package for you at your door. Our meal ingredients are packaged with ice packs in insulated containers and will typically remain cold and fresh for several hours, but depending on the season and temperature in your geographic area at the time of delivery, advance planning by you should be made for proper storage of your meal ingredients prior to consumption.
In the case of inclement weather or other events beyond our control that interfere with our ability to deliver your Order, we will attempt to deliver your Order as soon as reasonably possible. In some cases, delivery may occur prior to the scheduled delivery date. In the event that timely delivery of your meal ingredients is not feasible, we will cancel your order and issue you a credit or refund of the purchase price for that meal delivery.
If you are dissatisfied with your delivery for any reason, please contact us at email@example.com within seven (7) days of the date you received the meal ingredients and we may either replace the item at our expense or, depending on the circumstances, provide you a full or partial credit or refund of the purchase price for that item. Due to the perishable nature of the product, we don’t offer exchanges. Please note that the nature of meat products is that each animal is different and the quantity and size of individual cuts within a given share may vary based on the weight of the animal and butchering process. Therefore we are not able to guarantee a specific weight, quantity or individual cut size beyond the general estimation and description which is provided for general guidance purposes only. We may require the return or photographic documentation of any item with which you are dissatisfied before we provide you a credit or refund.
Beef Shares: Beef Shares can be cancelled subject to the following conditions. 90 days or more before scheduled delivery delivery - full refund. 30 days or more before scheduled delivery 75% refund. Less than 30 days before scheduled delivery no refund.
If you are dissatisfied with any non-food Product you purchased from Heartstone Farm, you may return the Product within thirty (30) days of the date you received the Product by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org and following the shipping instructions we supply; provided, that all returned Products must be unused and in their original packaging. After we receive your returned Product, we will issue you a refund for the price you paid for the Product (less any applicable shipping and handling charges). If you do not comply with the terms of this section, you will be ineligible to receive a refund.
