Denise is our Customer Experience Manager and a great cook. This is one of her favorites recipes a a great way to create a hearty dish with Heartstone Farm's Grass Fed Ground Beef. It reminds us of a classic diner dish but much better. Definitely a stick-to-your-ribs kind of meal.

Ingredients

SALISBURY STEAK Ingredients

1 lb Heartstone Farm 100% Grassfed Ground Beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

1 egg

GRAVY Ingredients

1 large onion, diced

1 green pepper, diced

2 brown gravy packets (or make your own gravy by adding 2 tbsp butter to your pan drippings, whisking in 2 tbsp flour and adding some beef stock (1/4 - 1/2 cup) until you reach the desired consistency)

2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

STEAK DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl mix all ingredients together
  2. Form 4 to 5 patties
  3. In large pan on medium with some oil or fat of choice, cook patties until cooked through - about 4 mins on each side.

GRAVY DIRECTIONS

  1. Hear a large skillet on mediium heat.
  2. Add olive oil, diced onion and green pepper to the pan. Cook on medium-low until the vegetables are soft - about 4 minutes
  3. Add water (amount on gravy package) to pan and bring to boil.
  4. Add gravy mix and stir. Alternatively, per the ingredients list above, you can make your own gravy following those instructions
  5. Pour gravy over Salisbury Steak. Let simmer for a couple minutes and serve
